Rest In The
Finished Work Of The Cross.
There remains therefore a rest for the
people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his
works as God did from His.
Just
before Jesus gave up the ghost, he said it is finished. What was finished? The
work that He came to do. As Christians when we rest by believing that the Word
of God is true, we allow God’s Power to work. Remember Peter and the fishermen
who toiled all night to no avail. However when Jesus said cast your net again,
they rested by trusting His Word. The result was a boat sinking catch of fish.
