IN
THE SILENCE
The
lamp in God's temple hadn't gone out yet, and Samuel was asleep in the temple
of the LORD where the ark of God was kept. Then the LORD called Samuel.
"Here I am," Samuel responded.
(1Sa
3:3-4 GW)
*Samuel
was a unique prophet in that the bible says that none of his words fell to the
ground. This means whatever Samuel said would happen, happened. This is very
powerful imagine if whatever you said came to pass. However we must realize
what enabled Samuel’s word to be as good as God very own word.
*Samuel
slept in the presence of God where the ark was kept which was not lawful at the
time, however by grace he did. It was in this quiet place that the Lord first
called out to him as he was still training in the temple.
We
can see Samuel knew the voice of God because he spent time where he would only
hear God speak and as a result what he said always came to pass.
*In
this modern time there are many voices and suggestions from people, television,
music, facebook, celebrities and so on seeming to speak to Christians and tell
them what and how they should live. Do not allow yourself to be shaped by the
world! Get into the secret place, the silent place, where it is just you and
God pray, read the Word and hear God speak to you.
*It
is when you separate yourself in silence as in fasting that the Holy Ghost can
minister to you and guide you clearly. Take time out to hear and receive
instruction from God to allow His Will to flourish in your life.
ACT
Take
at least five minutes of today in silence to speak and hear God speak back to
you.
SEE;
*Very
early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and
went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. (Mar 1:35)
*Hear
counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end. There
are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD,
that shall stand. (Pro 19:20-21)
