*HEAR AND DO*
Jesus replied, "Rather, how blessed are those who hear and obey God's word."
(Luk 11:28 GW)
In our opening verse a woman in the crowd shouted praising the womb that gave birth to Him. Jesus responded by saying the ones who hear and obey the word of God are more blessed. In order to see the fruit of what Gods word speaks about we must practice what the word speaks about. Just as how a farmer knows he must prepare a field, plant seed, weed the field, water the crop and then harvest. The same is true in the Christian walk.
Do not deceive yourselves by just listening to his word; instead, put it into practice. If you listen to the word, but do not put it into practice you are like people who look in a mirror and see themselves as they are. They take a good look at themselves and then go away and at once forget what they look like. (Jas 1:22-24 GNB) The book of James says we should not be forgetful hearers but doers. A forgetful hearer is someone that will forget what God says about a problem when it arises.
Jesus said a wise man builds upon a rock not sinking sand. This means when a problem arises you turn to Jesus for your answer. If there is lack you turn to Jesus trusting that He is your shepherd and will provide for your needs. If there is sickness you turn the body of Christ and remember the stripes that bought your healing. In any situation you quickly remember that nothing is impossible with God. He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Then you shall again discern Between the righteous and the wicked, Between one who serves God And one who does not serve Him. (Mal 3:18 NKJV)
*CONFESSION*
I will follow Jesus in all situations. Jesus is my rock. His word will keep me in all situations. I will remember the Word of God by the help of the Holy Ghost. Whenever darkness comes, the Words of Jesus will rise in me for they are eternal. I hear and keep Gods word in Jesus name.
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. (Mat 7:24-27 KJV)
