Righteousness is a Gift

*Righteousness is a Gift*
For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) (Rom 5:17 KJV)
*The word translated righteousness above is “dikaiosunē” which means equity (conformity with standards) or justification, so we can define it as justification by matching God’s standards of holiness and purity (sinlessness). Adam sinned by eating the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil this resulted in the fall of man from an intimate, righteous, holy relationship with God. Jesus Christ lived a sinless life was sacrificed as the lamb of God without spot or blemish for the sins of man, to restore man to an intimate righteous, holy relationship with God. . .For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. (Rom 5:19)
*Just as we receive gifts without doing anything for them. We do not pay to receive a gift, because a gift is given and the receiver must simply accept the gift. This is Christianity; Jesus Christ is the gift of God, His blood paid for your gift of righteousness to be restored to an intimate relationship with God. The one that accepts this by believing accepts the gift of God and is made righteous. . . For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses unto salvation. (Rom 10:10)
*The one that does not believe the sacrifice of Christ on the cross rejects the gift of God and is condemned. Believers in the sacrifice freely receive righteousness, the only work required is faith in Jesus Christ and the righteousness of Christ is imparted and will work in you producing good fruit. . .That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Rom 10:9)
*CONFESSION*
I believe in my heart that Jesus died and rose again for my salvation. I accept the gift of righteousness. I confess that I am righteous, holy and blameless for the blood of Jesus Christ washed me clean. I confess that God’s righteousness is working in me now and always by the power of His Grace and Mercy. Amen

But, when the kindness of God our Savior and his love for man were revealed, he saved us, not as the result of any righteous actions that we had done, but in fulfillment of his merciful purposes. He saved us by that Washing which was a New Birth to us, and by the renewing power of the Holy Spirit, which he poured out upon us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior; that, having been pronounced righteous through his loving-kindness, we might enter on our inheritance with the hope of Immortal Life. (Tit 3:4-7 TCNT)
