BE OPEN TO RECEIVE

 *BE OPEN TO RECEIVE*

When Jesus heard this, he said to him, "You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
(Luk 18:22 NIV)
In the event mentioned above a rich young ruler asked Jesus what he should do to inherit eternal life. Jesus told him to keep the commandments. The young ruler said he had done this from his youth. Jesus then raised the standard and told him to sell everything and give it to the poor then he would receive heavenly riches. The bible says the rich young ruler became sad and walked away. Jesus explained how difficult it was for a rich man to enter the Kingdom. The true interpretation is how difficult is it for those who trust in riches over trusting in God to enter the Kingdom.
This ruler was young and wealthy but he approached Jesus with his efforts of keeping the law. Here Jesus showed him the true heart of God to give it all away and receive more. The riches were more valuable to him than the word Jesus spoke. The disciples of Jesus left everything to follow him automatically without a command. By doing this they received much more physically and spiritually. There is always more with God, be expectant to see the Blessing of Abraham on you. And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her. (Luk 1:38 KJV)
Believe the word and trust the word.
And she said to her husband, "Look now, I know that this is a holy man of God, who passes by us regularly. "Please, let us make a small upper room on the wall; and let us put a bed for him there, and a table and a chair and a lampstand; so it will be, whenever he comes to us, he can turn in there." (2Ki 4:9-10 NKJV) Elisha encountered a woman the bible says was great. This lady was obviously wealthy. She then took care of the man of God and received a child she longed for. When you make room and give towards servants of God and the poor you make room to receive more from Him in riches, wealth, health, joy, blessing and so on.
Most importantly remember God is the giver, be open to receive.
*PRAYER*
Jesus my heart is open to receive your word. I trust in the finished work of the cross and not my own efforts. Lord I am open to receive everything you desire for me to receive. I know that it is never too late or too early to receive from you. Let you promises testify in my life for your Glory. Amen
This was the last thing the official expected to hear. He was very rich and became terribly sad. He was holding on tight to a lot of things and not about to let them go. Seeing his reaction, Jesus said, "Do you have any idea how difficult it is for people who have it all to enter God's kingdom? I'd say it's easier to thread a camel through a needle's eye than get a rich person into God's kingdom." "Then who has any chance at all?" the others asked. "No chance at all," Jesus said, "if you think you can pull it off by yourself. Every chance in the world if you trust God to do it." (Luk 18:23-27 MSG)
